We were fortunate to be able to give our input in the new Brides Colorado Spring/Summer 2010 issues if creative ceremony ideas! Our ideas included:

“Choose readings from your favorite childhood book,” says Kerri Butler of A Touch of Bliss. “Authors like Dr, Seuss and Shel Silverstein are popular. Guests love the nostalgic charm of these passages, and it’s a way for couples to include material that’s close to their hearts is more traditional selections aren’t the right fit!”

“In order to remember close family member who’ve passed away, I often suggest that couples leave an empty seat at the ceremony, with a single flower placed on it”, says Kerri, “It’s a sweet, beautiful way to pay respect to those who couldn’t be with you.”

About three months ago, a writer from Marie Claire magazine contacted me when she found my personal blog, to interview me about living and working abroad. I talked to her mostly about working abroad and planning international events, but she was interested the most about my attempt to volunteer in Costa Rica. I didn’t hear another thing about it for months! Then, the October issue arrived in my mailbox, and what did I find? A little quote from yours truly on page 92.
