Can I please design a wedding based on the movie Out of Africa? I saw the movie for the first time last night (I know, I know) and my mind was reeling with wedding inspiration possibilities. Safari chic, Ralph Lauren, wide leg pants, mosquito netting, garden roses, ivory tents, and all the horses one can handle. A few more images for you to devour…

Recently, I was watching a tribute to the great Hollywood legend, Elizabeth Taylor. For decades, she was the person that women of the world emulated. They wanted to be her, dress like her, and even smell like her.

Everytime I see Elizabeth Taylor, I am always overcome by the breathtaking beauty and enormous talent that embodied this woman, so of course I couldn’t help but become inspired. Enjoy!

Peacock feathers are a great way to bring vibrant color and bold texture to your design. They’re versatile, too – they can be used in several looks, whether you’re going for vintage elegance,  modern eclectic, or want to add a touch of whimsy to your wedding. The key to peacock feathers is to use them minimally as an occasional bold accent or inspiration.

This peacock-feather hairpiece looks vintage and romantic, and would be a great accent of color next to a white bridal gown:
