Bunches of Bliss...Elevating Events, Designing Details, and Bits of Wedding Sunshine

Browsing the 2009 August archive

I’m in the process of designing a wedding with the inspiration of fall fruit: plums, pears, pomegranates, and succulent jewel tones. I promise to share the inspiration board soon, but in the meantime, La Tartine Goumande brought these amazing fig images just in time to inspire me…and you!

In late June this year, Nena and Rod tied the knot at their summer wedding, with the theme “Meant to Bee”. Their color palette was a mixture of summer blues and warm yellow. The bridesmaids wore blue satin, and carried bouquet of roses, iris, and Gerber daises with a bee detail. The interfaith ceremony was held at St. Ignatius Loyola and the indoor/outdoor reception was held at the University of Denver. Guests enjoyed cupcakes for dessert and took home jars of Colorado honey as a favor. This couple was one of the sweetest that we’ve had the pleasure of working with this year. Here are a few shots of the event from Ash Marie Photo.

This photo, from the “Romeo and Juliet” shoot for Vogue by Annie Lebovitz has been ripped out and pinned to my actual inspiration board in my office since it appeared in the magazine in November of last year. It still inspires me and only reinforces for everyone that photography is art. Remember that a beautiful photo is worth everything, and a good photographer is worth even more!

Peacock-themed weddings are all the rage this season, so when we saw the Contessa Boutonniere offered by Sweet Grass Mill, we had to feature it! This double feather bout can also be a hair piece or an detail addition to a bouquet.

When I first saw the floral umbrella featured on the website of Plum Sage, florists extraordinaire, I fell in love! And since then, I have seen floral umbrellas in all shapes and sizes. Here is another example from Renny and Reed in New York:

Below is the inspiration board that we designed for Nicole and Rocky, who wanted a rich, antique French feel to their wedding. The groom is French, and the couple met while backpacking in Asia. Très romantique! As they tied the knot last Saturday, the photos are imminent, and we will share them as soon as we have them!
