Bunches of Bliss...Elevating Events, Designing Details, and Bits of Wedding Sunshine

It’s a beautiful time of year to go for a hike in Colorado and see the evergreens mingling with their more colorful deciduous cousins. This year the hues of orange, red, and yellow are especially saturated from our late precipitation– the bright colors are even gracing us with their presence, here in the city.

In Colorado, there are essentially two seasons: Summer and Winter. In November, we find ourselves in a strange transition between the two, where the temperatures flux and it’s never completely safe to put away those mini dresses or (try as I may) make the full-out switch to sweaters and boots.

As the last of the leaves fall (pun intended), the temperatures are getting colder and a few of us non-polar bears are reminded of how wonderful the beach would be right now. Even fewer of us are escaping there for some fun in the sun.

For some couples, a beach setting is ideal for exchanging vows. If you, too, are a warm-weather woman, then this blog’s for you!

Chrissy Teigen, an American Supermodel who has graced the pages of Sports Illustrated for the past 4 years, has recently created a new bridal line for the beach. As one who has likely lived a good chunk of her life in a swimsuit, Chrissy has successfully merged wedding dresses with her beloved bikinis, and created a weather-appropriate option for beach bunnies. Instead of utilizing long layers of white, Chrissy keeps it short with wedding-inspired
swimwear suitable for those sandy ceremonies.

Trendy? Trashy? Theme-perfection?

A Touch of Bliss created a romantic Vail wedding on the Vail Wedding Deck and Arrabelle Hotel. There where Rustic and elegant details. Geodes that were part of the eclectic centerpieces doubled as guest favors. The ceremony overlooked the Vail Mountains on the Vail Wedding Deck, and the words to the couple’s favorite Beatle’s song welcomed them into dinner. They danced into the night at The Arrabelle Tavern!

Special thanks to all the vendors that mades this beautiful Vail wedding happen!

A Touch of Bliss created a wonder day for Carole and Jeff, who got married October 5th, 2013 at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. The lucky couple got to have a James Beard dinner as their rehearsal dinner in the beautiful wine room. The 70 guests were treated at the wedding to a fabulous party including naughty and nice hot chocolate before the ceremony, a pie and ice cream bar, and all ages dancing up a storm. The fall theme was helped by the chilly but sunny weather.

A huge thank-you to all who helped make this such a special day!

A Touch of Bliss reorganized a romantic indoor wedding for Brittany and Brian after unexpected raindrops started to fall outside. A romantic arch was placed inside The Four Seasons Ballroom with flowering pergolas that guests ate under at dinner. A cigar roller entertained guests during the cocktail hour. Each dinner plate featured a cigar or chocolate surrounded by candles and flowers. Just after dinner, a curtain was drawn back to reveal the other half of the ballroom decorated in fairy-tale pink and white color. A stunning couple gracefully danced their first dance across the ballroom while guests followed in their footsteps.

Thank-you to all our vendors who helped create this magical night!

A Touch of Bliss executed a beautiful wedding in Larkspur, Colorado at Crooked Willow Farms. With the gorgeous mountains as a backdrop, Jessie and Nick exchanged vows in front of a crowd of very happy friends and family. To beat the heat, fans (that doubled as ceremony programs!!), were given to each guest as they arrived. The dinner menu was creatively painted onto an antique window to add charm to the barn venue. Books graced each table as a guide as to where the guests were to sit. Nick and Jessie had their first dance, while the guests enjoyed desert and the party moved outside, where they danced the night away! They left the party under a sprinkling of rose petals and the guests took home candied pecans to enjoy later!

Thank you to the wonderful vendors that made this special day possible:

A Touch of Bliss helped to create memories for Sarah and Dave on their wedding day at Crooked Willow Farms that they can treasure forever.  The beautiful hues of grey chevron and yellows were a brilliant mix of colors for this modern country wedding.  And, what is a country wedding without six lovely bridesmaids holding a yellow bouquet of flowers with complimenting tea length dresses and cowgirl boots? There was no mistakening that this wedding was anything but country! The stunning bride walked down the aisle with a beautiful strapless dress and a strand of pearls around her neck to marry her prince charming. The reception was held inside of the barn, and looking from the inside-out lighting strung out over the trees adding a romantic touch to the night.

A big THANK-YOU to all of our vendors who helped to make Sara and Dave’s Wedding special!

This week, Colorado has found itself in national news headlines, mingling with such articles as “Miley Cyrus’ VMAs Twerk-Fest Sparks Flurry of Outrageous FCC Complaints” and “Obama Hails Syria Deal, Keeps US Force as Fallback.” The front range has experienced record-breaking rain downpour for the last several days, and declared itself in a state of National Emergency. In light of recent events, I thought I’d find some inspiration to keep rainy day brides smiling, in spite of a lack of sunshine. Here are some fun ideas to put a romantic spin on any rainy day problems.

First of all, Rain on your wedding day is considered to be good luck in Hindu tradition! It is believed to foretell a strong marriage: a wet knot is more difficult to untie.

Rain is believed to be a symbol of fortune and abundance, in terms of our agrarian ancestors. Rain is what sustains crops and replenishes reservoirs; likewise, a rainy day can be a blessing of fertility.

Even if you don’t believe in the superstitions, blessings, or curses of the natural world, there will be rainy and sunny days alike throughout your marriage- best to start working through troubles together early on. =)

Besides, can anyone deny the sheer awesomeness of galoshes? Aside from rarely having the opportunity to use such a great word, rain boots are always cute and seem to have a quirky way of matching nearly every outfit!

And let’s not discount an umbrella as the cutest accessory of all time!

….or as stellar decoration!

If you’re like me, your raincoat is the best one in your closet, so you would relish any opportunity to wear it (and dance with the band)

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain!
